LUBBOCK —John Edward Gonzales, 83, of Lorenzo departed this life on Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Vista Care. He was born April 14, 1929, in Bastrop, Texas, to Mr. Manuel and Minnie Simms-Gonzales.
He leaves to cherish his memory, wife of 62 years, Dorothy Gonzales; three daughters, Stella Farewell, Mae Clay and Carla Gonzales; six sons, Joe Gonzales, John Wayne, Jerry, Danny, Charles and Manuel; 33 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one special friend, Fred Goldsmith; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Celebration of life services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2012, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Lorenzo, Texas. Interment will follow in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. today at Griffin Mortuary.
