Services held for Gene Gauny Friday

Services for James Eugene Gauny, 57, were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church.

Gauny, a former rancher who had farmed near Lorenzo, died Wednesday in Crosbyton Hospital. He had been in ill health several months.

Mr. Glynn Jackson, pastor of Robertson Baptist Church officiated, assisted by Mr. C. M. Fields. Burial was in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home.

Survivors are his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Reba Rice, Lubbock; Mrs. Dorothy Roberts, Roswell, N.M.; Mrs. Pauline Smith, Ralls and Mrs. Lora Jane Clane, Lubbock; a son, Bill, Ralls; a brother, Claude, San Saba; three sisters, Mrs. Iva Gillespie. Wichita Falls; Mrs. J. R. Benson, Taft, Calif., and Mrs. Ollie Young, Claremont, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren.

Pallbearers were W. O. Lockwood; L.A. Wygal, Robert E. Guess Jr., Hershell Reese, Kirk Slater and Thomas Tucker.
