Santiago Garcia Sr. 84 of Ralls passed away Friday September 7, 2012 in Lubbock Texas. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday September 11, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Ralls with the Rev. Ed Sena officiating. A prayer service will be held 6:00 p.m. Monday September 10, 2012 at the same church. Burial will be in the Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
Santiago was born July 25, 1928 in Bay City Texas to Jesus Garcia and Consuelo Deleon Garcia. He married Consuelo Vasquez on August 4, 1963 in Cone Texas. He was a Baptist Minister who loved the Lord and his church Iglesia Bautista Getsemani. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He was a person who loved people he literally gave the shirt off his back to one person and would do anything for anyone. He loved wrestling, gardening, listening to his music and telling jokes. He loved his son-in-law Bobby and daughter-in-law Lulu as if they were his own children.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Severo Deleon and a daughter-in-law Letty Garcia.
He is survived by his wife, three sons, Santiago Garcia Jr. of Ralls, Isreal Leon and wife Lulu Garcia of Idalou, Matthew Luke Garcia of Levelland. One daughter Sherrie Salinas and husband Bobby of Idalou. Two sisters Consuelo Rendon of San Benito Texas, and Luzdivina Guttierez of Matamoros Mexico. Five grandchildren Jaime Covarubio, Veronica Marie Garcia, Judith Niccollette Garcia, Samantha Analia Garcia, Isreal Aaron Garcia and three great grandchildren.
