Prayer services for Pedro "Pete" A. Garcia, 82, of Ralls will be at 7 p.m. this evening at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 2, 2009 at Grace Beyond Walls Church (1901 - B 50th St.) with Rev. Robert Cortez officiating. Burial will follow at Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home of Lubbock.
Pedro died Sept. 29, 2009 in Ralls, Texas. He was born on May 29, 1927 in Runge, Texas to the late Encarnacion and Joaquina Garcia. He married Juanita Soto on May 5, 1951 in Lubbock. He was preceded in death by a son, Pete Garcia, Jr., in 1999.
He is survived by his wife of Ralls; two sons, Roman Garcia and Marty Garcia, both of Lubbock; eight daughters, Joaquina Rosales, Olga Contreras, Marla Kelly, Teresa Salas, Dalia Gonzalez and Andrea Ordonez, all of Ralls, Mary Hernandez of Levelland and Elizabeth Garcia of Houston; a brother, Teodoro Garcia of Lubbock; a sister, Rosa Ramirez of Shallowater; 44 grandchildren; and 60 great-grandchildren.
