Obituary

Rosa GarciaServices for Rosa H. Garcia, 71, of Ralls will be held Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Templo Nueva Vida 512 Watts Street in Ralls. Burial will follow at the Ralls Cemetery. A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday at 7p.m at Templo Nueva Vida Church. Mrs. Garcia went to be with her Lord on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008.

Rosa was born on Feb. 17, 1936, in Elsa, Texas to the late Luz Sr. and Olivia (Ramirez) Hernandez. She married Luis Garcia Sr. on Feb. 3, 1956 in Elsa, Texas. She loved flowers and going to church. She also loved scratch off tickets and playing the lottery.

Rosa Garcia is preceded in death by her parents; two sons Luis Garcia Jr. in 2004 and Alfredo Garcia in 1957; one daughter Janie Linda Garcia in 1973; one brother Raul Hernandez in 2005; and one grandson Jay Derrick Davis in 1987.

Mrs. Garcia is survived by her husband Luis; four sons, Joe Garcia, wife Elsa of Ralls, Juan Garcia, wife Elodia of Ralls, Willie Garcia, wife Linda of Ralls, Ramiro Garcia, wife Maria of Crosbyton; seven daughters, Maria Crowley, husband Jeff of Ralls, Melva Culp, husband Jason of Petersburg, Betty Duarte, husband Isaias of Ralls, Kathy Jasso, husband Rudy of Ralls, Mary Helen Barajas, husband Mauricio of Ralls, Olivia Reyes, husband Mike of Wichita Falls, Ruby Salazar, husband Gabriel of Ralls; one daughter-in- law Susie Garcia of Wichita Falls; 44 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; two brothers Luz and Arnoldo; four sisters, Paula, Elena, Ester and Olga. Also, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews left to cherish her memory.

The family will also be receiving friends at the Garcia home 1023 Main Street Ralls, Texas. Memorials can be sent to Templo Nueva Vida Church 512 Watts Street Ralls, Texas 79357. Arrangements are under the direction of Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home.

Luis Garcia Prayer service for Luis H. Garcia, 77, of Ralls, were at 7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009, at Templo Nuevo Vida, in Ralls. Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, at the same church, with Rev. Onesimo Acosta officiating. Burial followed in the Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls. Luis passed away on Jan. 27, 2009, at his home in Ralls.

He was born May 12, 1931, in La Blanca, Texas, to the late Guermo and Romalda (Hernandez) Garcia. On Feb. 3, 1956, he married Rosa H. Ramirez, in Elsa. She preceded him in death on Jan. 27, 2008.

Luis moved to Ralls in 1959 from Elsa, and was a member of Templo Nueva Vida in Ralls. He worked on farms for Clayton Phillips, Larry Ashley, Danny McDuff and M. O. Greer.

He is preceded in death by two sons, Alfredo Garcia and Luis Garcia, Jr., and a daughter, Janie Linda Garcia. Survivors include four sons, Jose Victor, Juan Luis, and Willie, all of Ralls, and Ramiro, of Crosbyton; seven daughters, Maria Crowley, Betty Sifuentes, Mary Helen Barajas, Kathy Jasso, Olivia Reyes, and Ruby Sanchez, all of Ralls, and Melva Culp, of Petersburg; a brother, Ismael Garcia of Elsa; a sister, Petra Gomez of Elsa; 40 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.
