U.S.Flag Graveside services for Thurman Flowers, 88, of Ralls were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004 in the Ralls Cemetery with Rev. Ken Bevel officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls. He died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004, at Crosbyton Hospital. He was born Nov. 18, 1915, in Howland, Texas, to James Thomas and Emma Able Flowers. He married Helen Cannon on Feb. 6, 1937, in Lubbock, TX. She died on Feb. 24, 1997. He moved to Ralls in October of 1925 and graduated from Ralls High School in 1933. He was a farmer and member of the Emma Church of Christ in Ralls and Woodsmen of the World. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II,

He is preceded in death by a son, Roger Scott Flowers. Survivors include a daughter, Rita Carol Althof and husband Harold of Roscoe; a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Flowers of Lubbock; a brother, D.G. Flowers of Amarillo; four grandchildren, Greg Althof and wife Crystal, Jeff Althof and wife Jessica, Mike Foote, and Lisa Foote; and two great-grandchildren, Kasi and Tyler Althof.
