RALLS (Special) - Services for J.E. Evatt, 87, of Ralls will be at 2 p.m. today in Emma Church of Christ in Ralls with Roy Shave of DeSoto officiating.

Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

Evatt died Thursday night in Methodist Hospital in Lubbock after a brief illness.

He was born in Erath County and moved to the South Plains in 1923. He moved to Ralls in 1957. He married Minnie May Dawdy Oct. 14, 1917, in Huckaby. She died in 1980. He was a farmer. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons, Elvin and Billy, both of Ralls; two daughters, Elnaree Southward and Berta Fay Cornelius, both of Ralls; two brothers, Loyd and Jimmy, both of Stephenville; four sisters, Bertha Easter of Andrews, Mary Jackson of Moore, Okla., Johnnie Sullivan of Brownfield and Euna Jones of Stephenville; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
