Memorial services for W.E. Easter, justice of the peace in Crosby County Precinct One for eight years prior to his retirement at the end of 1978, were at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Emma Church of Christ in Ralls. Elvin Upton, the minister officiated.

Interment was made in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers were Norman Luker, Fred Owen, L.T. Starkey, Bill Jones, Jack Moore, and Kenneth Witt.

Honorary pallbearers included: Doyle Berry, Rex Slater, Lewis Ritchey, Jim Scott Travis, Jim Boydstun, Eddie Verett, Bob Stephens, D.K. Stevens, Jerry McGuan, Paul DeGan, Clay Kimbrough, and Alvie Lindley.

The 78-year-old Judge Easter died at 5:45 Monday morning in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital.

Judge Easter had been involved in ranching, civic service work, and law enforcement. He was justice of the peace from 1970 until the conclusion of 1978.

Willie Evan Easter was born Feb. 20, 1901 in Albany and was married March 20, 1932, to the former Bertha M. Evatt in Lovington, N.M. He came to Ralls in 1908.

Survivors include the wife, Bertha; one son, Duane of Andrews; two brothers, Walter Easter of Oklahoma and Arthur Easter of Sundown; four sisters, Mrs. Gladys Clark of Oakdale, Calif., Mrs. Gertrude Savage of Oklahoma, Mrs. Louise Green of Denver City, and Mrs. Thelma Robinson of Caddo, Okla; and one grandchild.
