Father: J. John Dudley b. Feb. 9, 1850 in Bond Co., Il. buried in Carr Chapel Cemetery, Floyd Co, TX
Mother: Mattie Chastine
Joe married MAY DELLA SPENCER Abt. 1902 in , ?,TX, daughter of JOSEPH SPENCER and LOUCRETIA PATTON.

Went to Joe Butler´s grave 1-19-96. He had no marker.
John Oliver Dudley (brother) also buried in same lot. No marker.
Funeral was at Bethel Baptist Church, Mr. Dale Ward, Pastor. Carter Funeral Home
Condition of death-Cerebral Vascular-Stroke?
Occupation-Farm Laborer
Died at Crosbyton Hospital
Notes for MAY DELLA SPENCER:
There is no marker at her grave site. May Della Dudley is buried in Carson Cemetery in Ector Co., TX beside her grandson, Gilbert Roy Cox, son of Gilbert Monroe and Lillie Lou Ethel Dudley Cox.
After Joe Butler Dudley died Jan. 10, 1960, May Della Spencer Dudley moved to live with her daughter, Lillie Lou Ethel Dudley Cox near Bonham Tx. She died there June 25, 1964.
Children of JOSEPH DUDLEY and MAY SPENCER are:
i. HERMAN EDGAR[6] DUDLEY, d. October 01, 1944.
Herman was killed during WW II with rank of Seaman second Class, United States Navy. His monument is in Honolulu Hawaii. He is buried there. He entered the US Navy on Nov. 23, 1943 and was killed in Action on Oct 1, 1944.
ii. EMMA MARTHA "EMMA" DUDLEY, m. (1) UNKNOWN ASKEW, ,,Tx; m. (2) UNKNOWN FERGUSON, ,,Tx.
iii. MONROW HERBERT JOE DUDLEY, b. 1933, Tx; d. Nampa, Idaho.
         
Monrow died of Heart failure.

Notes for HERBERT CLINE "SHORTY" BURKE: Died from Cerebral Stroke. Occupation-worked at John Deere Implement when he died.

John´s funeral was at United Methodist Church in Lorenzo with Rev. James Futch and Rev David Vistine, pastor of Assembly of God Church of Lorenzo. Burial under direction of Carter Funeral Home of Ralls. Married Lola Askew in Crosbyton in 1934. He died in the Crosbyton hospital.
x. LILLY LOU ETHEL "ETHEL" DUDLEY, b. November 19, 1911, Floydada, Floyd, Tx, USA; d. January 03, 2000, Ava, Douglas Co., Mo; m. GILBERT MONROE COX, November 30, 1931, Lorenzo, Crosby, Tx, USA.
Notes for GILBERT MONROE COX: I have a copy of his birth certificate. Marriage Notes for LILLY DUDLEY and GILBERT COX: Married at Methodist Church in Lorenzo Tx. Witnesses were George and Lois Southerland, and John Dudley.
xi. OLIVER TROY "OLIVER" DUDLEY, b. April 04, 1927, Petersburg, Tx, USA; d. May 30, 1944, Gatesville Boys Home, Gatesville, Tx, USA.
Oliver was sent to Gatesville Boys Home for stealing a bicycle. The story was told that his little brother Monroe stole the bike and he took the blame for it. He was 17 yrs old when he died. His neck was broken in prison. The state said that he dove into a swimming pool and broke his neck. He didn´t die instantly but died days later.
