RALLS (Special) — Services for Horace H. Downing, 74, will be at 2 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Ralls with the Rev. Lee Fuller, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in the Ralls Cemetery under the direction of the Carter-Adams Funeral Home.
Downing died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Crosbyton Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born in Ira, he married Ruby Sandlin on June 5, 1933, in Tell. They moved to Ralls in 1954 from Paducah. He was a mechanic and a member of the Odd Fellows. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Steve of Lubbock; a daughter, Rhonda Sandlin of Cone; a brother, W.L. Sr. of Amherst; a sister, Dora Bohannon of Childress; and four grandchildren.

Graveside services for Ruby Downing, 91, of Ralls will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 23, 2008 at the Ralls Cemetery with Rev. Ken Bevel officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
Ruby passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at the Levelland Nursing Home.
She was born on January 15, 1917 in Mt. Pleasant to the late Joe and Maud (Dillard) Sandlin. On June 5, 1933 she married Horace Herman Downing in Tell, Texas. He preceded her in death on March 26, 1985.
Ruby was a member of the Baptist Church and former member of the Ralls Sewing Club. She formerly owned the 10 til 10 Drive In in Ralls. She was a homemaker and also had worked as a nurse's aid.
She is preceded in death by a grandson; Christopher Sandlin.
Survivors include; a son and his wife; Steve and Denise Downing of Levelland, a daughter; Rhonda Sandlin, three grandchildren; Steven Downing & wife Joan, Todd Downing and wife Teresa and Heather Sandlin and seven great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday, February 22, 2008 from 5 PM to 6 PM at Adams Funeral Home in Ralls.
