LORENZO (Special) - Services for Emma Douglas, 72, of Lorenzo will be at 2 p.m. today at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Hankson, pastor, and the Rev. Walter Griffin of Plainview officiating.

Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home.

She died at 12:45 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary´s Hospital after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Austin and had been a Lorenzo resident for 35 years. She married Ernest E. Douglas. He died in 1979. She was a housewife. She was member of the Eastern Star and the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church where she had served as "Mother of the Church" from 1974 until 1982.

Survivors include two daughters, Alice Faye Douglas and Rita Kay Douglas, both of Anton; four stepdaughters, Ernestine Currie of Osceola, Ark., Cherry Pegree of Tacoma, Wash., Eula Douglas of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Ann Douglas of Portland, Ore.; and five grandchildren.
