John Diaz Jr.
U.S.Flag Funeral services for John "Cobb" Diaz, Jr., 54, of Acuff, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, 1998, at St. Michael´s Catholic Church of Ralls with the Rev. Glenn Rosendale, pastor, officiating.

Rosary was said at St. Michael´s Monday, August 31, 1998, at 7:30 p.m. Burial was in the Ralls cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

He died Saturday, Aug. 29, 1998, at St. Mary´s Hospital of Lubbock.

Mr. Diaz was born Sept. 2, 1943, in Robstown, TX. He married Josie Casias June 27, 1987 in Lubbock.

He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic church of Slaton. He farmed on the Max Barnett Farm at Acuff and served in the U.S. Army Reserve.

He moved to this area about 30 years ago and to Acuff 20 years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Josie of Acuff; his mother, Jesusita Diaz of Crosbyton; a son, Johnny Diaz III of Lubbock; a daughter, Donna Diaz of Lubbock; two step-sons, Joe Allen and Julian Espinoza, both of Idalou; two step-daughters, Jeana Alonzo of Acuff and Bonnie Arguello of Idalou; one brother, Alfred Diaz of Lubbock; six sisters, Phyllis Perez and Olivia Arrendondo of Lubbock. Tomasa Madrid and Margarita Guzman of Ft. Worth, Lydia Morales and Linda Silva of Crosbyton; three grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
