DeFreese, 72, of Ralls and formerly of the Lubbock area, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Ralls Church of Christ with Kenneth Avaritt, an evangelist from Benton, Ark., and Garland Lipe, an evangelist from Havana, Ark., officiating.Burial will follow in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Ralls.
DeFreese died Sunday in Methodist Hospital in Lubbock.
A native of Tuscaloosa, Ala., DeFreese was married to Ollie Welch Nov. 29, 1925, in Lamar County. They moved to the Lubbock area in 1947 from Paris and to Ralls in 1965. He was an active member of the Ralls Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Edd Thomason of Savoy, Mrs. James Couch of Ralls and Mrs. Jamie Lewallen of Floydada; a son, Charles of Wolfe City; two brothers, Wilson of Blythe, Calif., and Pete of Big Pine, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Art Cantrell of Bishop, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
The family request memorials be made in the form of contributions to cancer research.
