Services for Bertie Amanda Deakins, 84, of Lubbock and formerly of Ralls were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 1986 in the Ralls First Baptist Church with Rev. Lee Fuller, pastor, officiating.

Burial followed in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

Mrs. Deakins died at 9:00 p.m. Tuesday July 1, 1986, in the Ralls Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. She was born Feb. 10, 1902 in Comanche County, Texas and married M. E. Deakins in 1940 in Harlingen, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1977. She was a Baptist and had previously taught Sunday School. She had been a resident of Lubbock since 1940 and a former resident of Ralls.

Survivors: 2 brothers: H.L. Porter, Sr. - Petersburg, Ben Porter - Lubbock; 8 Nieces and Nephew; Several Great Nieces and Nephews.
