Mr. and Mrs. James Crowley Sr. of Ralls celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary Feb. 28. They are the parents of James and Judy Crowley of Ralls; Susie and Finn Mjolhus of Porsgruun, Norway, and Ralls; Becky and Cecil Garvin of Apison, Tenn.; and Jeff and Maria Crowley of Ralls. Crowley and the former Joyce Cook married Feb. 28, 1942, in Lorenzo. They have 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Our hearts are saddened now that you are not with us, but our hearts rejoice to know you are at peace with your maker, Jesus Christ. You were on a long difficult journey and yet, your spirits were always high. Your kindness and sweetness has touched our hearts. It will be the small joys of life that we experience every day that will remind us of you and will bring smiles to our hearts. Until Jesus gathers us all together we will say "Rest in Peace Dear loved one".
Services for Joyce W. Crowley, 80, of Ralls will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 17, 2007 at the Ralls First Baptist Church with Pastor Ken Cartwright and Pastor Micheal W. Troxell officiating. Burial will follow in the Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
Joyce passed away Monday, August 13, 2007 at University Medical Center in Lubbock. She was born December 28, 1926 in Lorenzo to the late Travis W. and Margaret (Mahanna) Cook. On February 28, 1942 she married James O. Crowley in Lorenzo. She was a member of the Lubbock Seventh Day Adventist Church and worked for Ralls Independent School District for 20 years in the Elementary Cafeteria. She had lived in the Ralls area all her life.
She is preceded in death by a sister; Xenna Watkins in 1999.
Survivors include; her husband; James of Ralls, two sons and their wives; James Crowley, Jr. and Judy, and Jeff Crowley and Maria all of Ralls, two daughters and their husbands; Margaret Ann "Susie" Mjolhus and Finn of Porsgrunn, Norway, Rebecca Garvin and Cecil of Apison, TN a sister Marion Tyer of Ft. Worth, and eight grandchildren and one great grandson.
The family would like to express special appreciation to her physicians and the wonderful nurses and staff at the Crosbyton Hospital, UMC and Covington Specialty Clinic.

Services for James Oliver Crowley, Sr., 86, of Ralls will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 16, 2010 at the Ralls First Baptist Church with Pastor Ken Cartwright and Pastor LeRoy Green officiating. Military graveside rites will follow in the Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
James was born January 25, 1924 in Savage, Texas to the late Oliver and Jewel (Vaughn) Crowley. A lifelong resident of the Ralls area, James worked for the City of Ralls as the Water and Maintenance Superintendent from 1964 to his retirement in 1986. He retired from the Ralls Volunteer Fire Department after 20 years of service. James served in the US Army 11th Airborne during WWII and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Lubbock. On February 28, 1942 he married Joyce Wayne Cook in Lorenzo. She preceded him in death August 13, 2007.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, James and Judy Crowley, Jr. and Jeff and Maria Crowley, all of Ralls; two daughters and their husbands, Margaret Ann "Susie" and Finn Mjolhus of Porsgrunn, Norway and Rebecca and Cecil Garvin of Apison, TN; one brother, Billy Max Crowley of Magazine, AR; six sisters, Frances Moses of Hereford, Leta Mae Allen of Kemp, Texas, Betty Jane Pinkerton of Summersville California, Margie Wilkerson of Hobbs, NM, Ann Drachenberg of Lubbock and Barbara Crowley of Booneville, AR; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
