Daisy CoxServices for Daisy Evelyn Cox, 99, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, in the W. W. Rix Chapel with Ron Bontrager and Steve Barber officiating. Burial will follow in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Rix Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m. tonight at Rix Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Cox passed away Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, at Heritage Oaks Nursing and Rehab. Center.

She was born Aug. 25, 1907, in Quitman, Miss. to the late David Elzy and Hattie Pearl (Tucker) Goree. They moved to the Ralls area at Old Emma about 1919. She married Joe W. Cox on Dec. 22, 1928 in Crosbyton. She was a homemaker and for a time was a House Mother for the Smithlawn Maternity Home. She was a loving wife and mother who loved playing board games. She was a fantastic cook and talented seamstress. She was a member of the Sunset Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Joe W. Cox of Lubbock; two daughters, Shirley Andrews of Lubbock and Nancy Barber and husband Clyde of Dumas; three sons, Joe Weldon Cox and wife Betty of Fair Oaks Ranch, Ronnie Dale Cox, and David Leroy Cox, Sr. and wife Dainty Sue, all of Lubbock; 19 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and 13 great-great grandchildren.

A son, Jerry Franklin and a daughter, Daisy Delores Thompson Light precede her in death.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Sunset International Bible Institute, 3723 34th Street, Lubbock, 79410 or Vista Care Hospice, 1717 Norfolk Ave., Suite A, Lubbock, 79416.
