Mrs. Katie Cornwell, 88, of Ralls was buried in Ralls Cemetery following 2 p.m. services Friday in First Baptist Church of Ralls with the Rev. Dale Cain, pastor, officiating.A Ralls area resident since February 1925, Mrs. Cornwell died about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Methodist Hospital in Lubbock after a brief illness.
The former Katie Atwood was married Dec. 25, 1914, to John L. Cornwell in Belton. Cornwell preceded his wife in death on June 18, 1946.
Survivors include three sons, Howard Cornwell and J.L. Cornwell, both of Ralls, and C.M. Cornwell of San Angelo; one daughter, Mrs. Merrell Cox of Lubbock; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
