A Ralls resident since 1945, Fay Cornwell, was claimed by death at 5:45 p.m. Friday at St. Mary´s Hospital in Lubbock following a lengthy illness. She was 75.Memorial services were at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in Ralls First Baptist Church. Officiating were the Rev. Lee Fuller, pastor, and the Rev. Floyd Haddock, pastor of First Baptist Church in Hobbs, N.M.
Burial was made in Ralls Cemetery. A Graham native, the former Fay Mayes was married to Thomas Howard Cornwell on Oct. 31, 1932, in Ralls. Mr. Cornwell, preceded his wife in death July 4, 1980.
The family had resided in Ralls since 1945.
Mrs. Cornwell was a member of First Baptist Church in Ralls, the Order of the Eastern Star and the Ralls Senior Citizens.
Survivors include one son, John Thomas of Hobbs, N.M.; a brother, W.H. (Bill) Mayes of Lubbock; a sister, Louise McClusky of Modesta, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
She also was a sister of the late Truett Mayes.
