Services for Jasper A. "Buck" Cornelius, 87, of McAllen were held on Tuesday, May 8, 2001, at Ralls Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Bartley officiating.Burial was in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
He died Thursday, May 3, 2001, at McAllen Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 12, 1913, in Mount Calm, TX
He married Vera "Nadene" Adamson on Oct. 29, 1937.
He attended Alamo Baptist Church. He was a farmer in the Ralls area from 1935 to 1965. He loved horses and made sure that one riding horse was always on the farm for riding and his son (Wayne Cornelius) became a California roping champion. He moved to McAllen in 1976.
He was preceded in death by his son, Wayne Cornelius, April 18, 1975.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Sue Minter of Burleson; one brother, Ray Cornelius of Corsicana; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
