Funeral services for Pete Chavez, 80, of Ralls, will be on Monday, Feb. 12, 2007 at 10 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Rev. Jesse Cruz officiating. Rosary will be 7 p.m. Sunday at Guajardo Funeral Chapels.
Burial will be at Ralls cemetery under the direction of Guajardo Funeral Chapels.
He was born on April 7, 1926 in Garland, Ark. He married Isabel Martinez on Feb. 2, 1945 in Rosebud, Texas.
Mr. Chavez moved from Ark in 1942 to Rosebud, in 1953 moved to Crosby County and farmed in Lorenzo and Ralls for 31 years, where he helped to established St. Michael's Catholic Church. He was also a promoter of dances and introduced Little Joe y La Familia to West Texas. He loved and helped many people. He loved God, his family and friends.
Survivors include: his wife Isabel Chavez of Ralls; Son: Pete Chavez Jr. (Rose) of Ralls; Daughters: Lydia Gonzales of Ralls, Virginia Fernandez of San Antonio, Josie(Valentin) Villafranco of Lubbock; One sister: Maria Zarazua of Ralls; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Isabel Martinez Chavez, 89, of Ralls will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father Ernesto Lopez officiating and Deacon Willie Garcia assisting.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Monday, March 22, 2010 at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Burial will be at Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Guajardo Funeral Chapels.
Isabel passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Lubbock Heart Hospital. She was born on June 10, 1920 to Ascencion and Petra Martinez in Rosebud, Texas. Isabel married Pete Chavez on Feb. 2, 1945 in Rosebud. He died on Feb. 9, 2007.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother. Isabel enjoyed playing piano with her brother's band and she played organ at St. Michael's Catholic Church. She is now with her love of her life.
Those left to cherish Isabel's memories are her daughters, Josie (Valentino) Villafranco of Lubbock, Virginia Fernandez of San Antonio, Lydia Gonzales of Ralls; son, Pete Chavez Jr. of Ralls; two sisters, Ofelia (Felix) Damian and Hortense Olsen both of Milwaukee, WI; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
