Emilio CastroEmilio P. Castro, Sr., 74 years young, has left his earthly home of Ralls, Texas on Sunday, February 27, 2011. He was born to Raymundo and Alvina Castro in Eddy, Texas and had six siblings, Guadalupe, Bartolo, Ramiro, Amelia, Domingo and Nazario. Mr. Castro married his wife, Amelia on October 22, 1960, in Round Rock. He was a humble and devoted member of the farming and agricultural industry, until his retirement. He resided in Ralls for most of his life, where he and his wife raised their family. Mr. Castro was truly proud of his family and spoke often of them with joy. He leaves behind his wife of fifty years and his nine children, Mary Castillo of Lubbock, Jesse Castro of Dallas, Joe Castro of Lubbock, Teresa Castro Cedar Hill, Rosario Galimi of Irving, Emilio Castro, Jr. of Kingsville, Christopher Castro of Kansas City, MO, Johnny Castro of Irving and Adam Castro of Lubbock. Mr. Castro was especially proud of his grandchildren, leaving behind eight grandsons; nine granddaughters; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded by a sister, Guadalupe; a brother, Bartolo; and a daughter, Lupita. Services will be Wednesday, March 2nd at 11 a.m. in the Ralls Cemetery Chapel. Burial is under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls. Pastor Jesus Cisneros will be officiating, followed by graveside services at Ralls Cemetery.

Pallbearers include his grandchildren, Romeo Tagle, Jr., Mark Tagle, Michael Joe Castro, Gabriel Vasquez, John Vasquez, and his nephew Eddy Castro. Honorary pallbearers are, Elijah Castillo and Stephen Castro.

Mr. Castro leaves a remarkable legacy as a family man and hard worker. He often said, "hay trabajo que hacer." Translation: "there's work to be done;" which he applied to both his family and his occupation.
