Obituary

Rosary for Ramon Casarez, 82, of Ralls was said at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, November 29, 1990, in the St. Michael´s Catholic Church in Ralls with Rev. Tom Parampil, pastor officiating. Mass was celebrated Friday, November 30, 1990, at 2 p.m. in St. Michael´s Catholic church with Rev. Tom Parampil, pastor and Monsignor Curtis Hoffman pastor of St. Joseph´s Catholic Church in Slaton, officiating.

Burial followed in the Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

Mr. Casarez died at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, 1990, in Lubbock´s St. Mary´s Hospital following a lengthy illness.

He was born April 8, 1908, in Mexico and raised in Karnes County, Texas. He moved to O'Donnell in 1957 then to Ralls in 1969. He was a farmer, a member of the St. Michael´s Catholic Church, the Sacred Heart and Cursillista. He married Petra Canales Oct. 25, 1931, in Karnes County.

Survivors include his wife, Petra Casarez of Ralls; five sons, Casimiro Casarez of O´Donnell, Oscar Casarez of Lubbock, Martin Casarez of O´Donnell, Roy Casarez of Poteet, and Johnny Casarez of Ralls; three daughters, Elida Pena of Beeville, Belia Martinez and Mary C. Garcia of Ralls; five half-brothers, Pedro Casarez, Pablo Casarez and Timoteo Casarez of O´Donnell; Luz Casarez of Lubbock; Jesus Casarez of Meadow; one half-sister, Adelina Ramos of Karnes City; 28 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

RALLS (Special) — Rosary for Petra Canales Casarez, 78, of Ralls will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today in St. Michael´s Catholic church with Msgr. Harold Waldo, pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Amarillo, officiating.

Mass will be celebrated at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the same church with the Rev. Roland Buxkemper, pastor of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Lubbock, officiating.

Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home.

Mrs. Casarez died at 10:48 p.m. Sunday in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital after a lengthy illness.

She was born in San Patricia County and moved from O´Donnell to Ralls in 1969. She married Ramon Casarez on Oct. 25, 1931, in Karnes County. He died on Nov. 28, 1990. She was a homemaker and a member of St.Michael´s Catholic Church and the Guadalupanas.

Survivors include five sons, Casimiro and Martin, both of O´Donnell, Oscar and Johnny, both of Lubbock, and Roy of Poteet; three daughters, Elida Penz of Beeville and Belia Martinez and Mary Garcia, both of Ralls; a sister, Felicita Perez of Portland; 28 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
