Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Friday for T.C. Carpenter, 64, of Ralls, who died in Spikes Clinic in Ralls about 4:25 p.m. Thursday, July 6, after an illness of eight weeks.
The Rev. J. Frank Nix of Lubbock officiated in services at the Ralls Baptist church, assited by the pastor, Rev. J.S. Abernethy. The Masons were in charge of graveside services in Ralls cemetery.
Carpenter is survived by his wife; three sons, Medlin, Bill Ray and Harry Carpenter of Ralls; a granddaughter, three brothers, Claude of Altus, Okla., Elam of Waynoka, Okla., and Boyd of Wolf City, and four sisters, Mrs. Ava Jackson and Mrs. Clyde Frizzell of Floydada, Mrs. Ila Cone of Wichita Falls and Mrs. Ethel Greenway of Wolf City.
Pallbearers were Ira Prewitt, C.L. Sargent, Otho Reed, Clarence Verette, W.H. Anstead, all of Ralls, and Wilson Bethel of Floydada.

RALLS (Special) Services for Sophia Carpenter, 91, of Ralls will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church here with the Rev. Dale Cain, pastor of Cavalry Baptist Church of Lubbock, officiating. Assisting will be the Rev. Billy Burke, pastor of Ralls First Baptist Church.Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
Mrs. Carpenter died about 2:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary´s Hospital in Lubbock after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Wolf City and moved to Ralls in 1926. The former Sophia Medlin married T.C. Carpenter on March 9, 1912, at Wellington.
Survivors include three sons, Medlin of Plainview and Bill and Harry, both of Ralls; a granddaughter; and three great-grandchildren.
