Services for Ismael Jose Cantu, 47, of Cone, were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 1992, in the St. Michael´s Catholic Church in Ralls with Rev. Gerald Leatham, pastor, officiating.Burial followed in the Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
Mr. Cantu was pronounced dead at 5:50 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 1992, at his Cone residence by Justice of the Peace James Isbell, who ruled natural causes in the death, Mr. Cantu was under Hospice Care.
He was born March 20, 1945, in Mission, Texas, and moved to Cone in 1958. He was a former resident of Seminole. He married Frances Salazar Feb. 8, 1965, in Ralls. He was a farmer/ginner and formerly worked at the Ocha Gin in Seminole. He was a Catholic.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Cantu of Cone; one son, Ismael Cantu, Jr. of Cone; two daughters, Annabelle Saldana and Marylou Saldana both of Tahoka; his parents, Luis and Ramona Cantu of Lubbock, and Tony Cantu of Cone; and four grandchildren.

Rosary for Francis S. Cantu, 64 of Tahoka and formerly Ralls will be at 7:00 PM, Thursday, July 31, 2008 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Ralls. Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 2, 2008 at the same church with the Rev. Ernesto Lopez officiating. Burial will be in the Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.Francis passed away Thursday, July 31, 2008 at her home in Tahoka. She was born June 1, 1944 in Brownsville to Andy Salazar, Sr. and Maria (Gonzales) Salazar. On February 8, 1965 she married Ismael Cantu, Sr. in Ralls. He preceded her in death on May 28, 1992. She was a member of the Catholic Church and was a thread maker for Lorenzo Textile Mill. She is preceded in death by a grandson, Aaron Jo Saldana who died in 2001.
Survivors include; a son; Ismael Cantu, Jr. of Brownfield, two daughters; Annabelle Cantu and Mary Lou Saldana both of Tahoka, four brothers; Johnny Salazar of Lorenzo, Paul Salazar and Larry Salazar both of Ralls, Andy Salazar, Jr. of Carson City, Nevada, five sisters; Maggie Martinez and Connie Rodriguez both of Ralls, Nora Salazar of Lubbock, Isabel Campos of Taylor and Santos Bart of Weslaco, six grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be the grandchildren; Eddy Saldana, Jr., Billy Ray Saldana, Gabby Cantu, E. J. Cantu, Larry Joe Saldana, Laura Marie Reyna and Frank Reyna.
