Peggy Ann Bownds Campbell of Idalou departed this life on June 14, 2008 at the age of 71. Services were at 2:00 PM, Monday, June 16, 2008 at the Ralls First Baptist Church with Rev. John Ballard and Rev. Ken Bevel officiating. Burial was in the Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls. She was born on February 8, 1937 in Ralls to Lester and Inda (Poteet) Bownds. In 1955 she married Delton Campbell. Peggy graduated from Ralls High School in 1955 and was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She had also been a long time employee of Farm Bureau.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother Winfred "Blackie" Bownds.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 53 years; Delton of Idalou, a son and his wife; Kelly and Karla Campbell of Ralls, two daughters; Shelly Campbell of Dallas and Sherry Dickerson and her husband Lance of Plainview, a brother; Sammie Bownds of Ralls, two sisters; Myra Timmons of Lubbock and Pat Bates of Granbury, 4 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5 PM to 6 PM at Adams Funeral Home in Ralls. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
