Obituary

RALLS — Rosary for Guadalupe Calderon, 79, of Ralls will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov.16, at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Ralls. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the same church with the Rev. Leonardo Pa- hamtang officiating. Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

She died Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. She was born Dec. 12, 1923, in Laredo to Jesus and Maria Ibanez Arrambides. She married Jose Calderon on March 29, 1943, in Corpus Christi. They moved to Ralls in 1956 from Springlake. She was a homemaker and member of St. Michaels Catholic Church, Guadalupanas, and Cursillistas.

Survivors include her husband, Jose of Ralls; three sons, Jessie and Eddie, both of Ralls, and Robert of Ft. Worth; six daughters, Josie Velasquez, Janie Rivera, Minnie Rivera, and Gloria Mendolla, all of Ralls, and Sally Calderon and Elsie Colon of Lubbock; a sister, Ernestine Silva of Ralls; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Jose Calderon photoJose Calderon, 86, of Ralls, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, January 26, 2010, with his family by his side.

Rosary will be held this evening at 7 p.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Ralls, with Funeral Mass on Friday, Jan. 29, 2010 at 11 a.m., with Father Ernesto Lopez officiating.

He was born on May 21, 1923, in Nixon, Texas, to Jesus Calderon and Andrea Salas. He married Guadalupe Arrambidez on March 29, 1943. She preceded him in death on Nov. 14, 2003. He was a farmer for many years and a ginner. He was one of the first members that helped build St. Michael's Church and was a Cursillista.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Pedro Calderon, in 2004.

Survivors include three sons, Jesse and Eddie (Candy), all of Ralls, and Robert (Linda) of Ft. Worth; five daughters, Josie Velasquez (Frank), Janie Rivera (Gilbert), Minnie Rivera (Albert) and Gloria Mendolla (Mike), all of Ralls, and Sally Calderon and Elsie Colon, both of Lubbock; a sister, Maria Mungia of Lewisville; 22 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
