Horace Rudolph Cage of Floydada was buried in Ralls Cemetery following 2 p.m. Saturday memorial rites in the Calvary Baptist Church in Floydada. Officiating was the Rev. Hollis Payne, former pastor of the church, assisted by Dr. Floyd C. Bradley, pastor of First Baptist Church in Floydada.
Mr. Cage was the father of Mrs. Jerry (Ella Mae) Gentry and a brother-in-law of Hoyt McClure and Mrs. W.B. (Connie) Allen, all of Crosbyton, and Weldon McClure, recently of this community.
The 69-year-old Floydada man succumbed Thursday morning in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital after a lengthy illness
A Wise County native, Mr. Cage moved to Floyd County in 1953 from Spur. He and the former Bonnie Beatrice McClure were married September, 1928 in Floydada.
The deceased was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Donald Hoyt Cage of Lubbock and David Roy Cage of Azle; a daughter, Mrs. Ella Mae Gentry of Crosbyton; a brother, Harland Jay Cage of Floydada; a sister, Mrs. Crafton Hay of Lubbock; six grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Services for Bonnie B. Cage, 86, of Floydada, were held at 2.:00 p.m. Friday, April 18, 1997 in the Calvary Baptist church, Floydada, with the pastor, Rev. Claude Porter, and Rev. Hollis Payne, Floydada, officiating.
Burial followed in the Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
Mrs. Cage died at 7:34 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 1997 in the Slaton Care Center. She was born in Wise County, Texas on March 4, 1911 and married Horace Rodolph Cage on September 28, 1928 in Floydada, Texas. He preceded her in death on December 8, 1977. She also was preceded in death by a son, Donald Hoyt Cage in 1991 and by two brothers, Weldon McClure and Hoyt McClure.
Survivors include a son, David Roye Cage of Azle, TX; a daughter, Ella Mae Gentry of Lubbock; four sisters, Rachel Powell and Connie Allen both of Crosbyton, Edna Norman of Las Cruces, NM, and Martha Lou Moss of Memphis, TX; two sisters-in- law, Virginia Cage and Frances McClure both of Floydada; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Pallbears were Jim McClure, Ronald McClure, James Cage, Wayland Jones, Joe Taylor, Duane McClure, Eugene Norman, Robert Moss, and Tom Taylor. The family suggests memorials be made to the Calvary Baptist Church of Floydada.
