Funeral services for Jewell Jean Kirkpatrick Bratcher, 70, of 2134 71st St., Lubbock were at 2 p.m. Monday at St. John´s United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ted Dotts, pastor, Dr. William R. Flemming, a Methodist minister, and the Rev. Lee Crouch of Vernon First United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial was in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
She died at 3:30 p.m. Friday at her home after a lengthy illness. She was under a doctor´s care.
Mrs. Bratcher was born in Lordsburg, NM. She taught school for three years after graduating from Texas Women´s College. She married Hubert Bratcher on Sept. 4, 1934. She completed her master´s degree in English at West Texas State University in Canyon after her marriage.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter Mayna King of Petersburg; a son, Gene of Harlingen; and four grandchildren.
