Services for the Rev. Hubert Bratcher, 83, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. John´s United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ted Dotts officiating. He will be assisted by the Rev. Lee Crouch.

Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.

He died at 1:05 p.m. Saturday in Methodist Hospital after an illness.

He was born in Butcher Knife, Okla. He married Jewell Kirkpatrick in 1934 in Weatherford. He began his ministry in Skellytown. He served churches in Pampa and Ralls. He was pastor of St. John´s United Methodist Church in Lubbock for eight years. He was a superintendent of the Pampa, Stamford and Big Spring districts. He was a 1951 graduate of the McMurry Divinity School. He and his wife served in an exchange pastorate program in England in 1962. He served as a member of the original board of Methodist Hospital.

Survivors include a daughter, Mayna King of Petersburg; a son, Gene of Harlingen, and four grandchildren.
