Alphia Bean
Services for Alphia Jacqueline Bean, 78, of Ralls will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Shiloh Baptist Church in Ralls with the Rev. Raymond Roberts officiating.

Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

She died Monday, Sept. 16, 2002, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.

She was born Dec. 18, 1923, in Milam County. She married the Rev. Madison Bean on May 31, 1941, in Crosbyton. He died Aug. 19, 1982.

She moved to Ralls in 1936. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Ralls and worked for the Ralls school district for 14 years.

She is preceded in death by a son, Benny Madison Bean, in 1999, and two brothers, Robert Lenford and William Lenford.

Survivors include three sons, Billy Ray Bean of Lancaster, Willie Bean of California City, Calif., and Danny Bean of Dallas; four daughters, Alphia Faye Cobbin and Linda K. Johnson, both of Aurora, Colo., Doris Jean Tinnell of McAlester, Okla., and Connie Bean of Ralls; two brothers, Harold Lenford of Bryan and Carl Lenford of California; two sisters, Ocie May Percy of Paris, Texas, and Lilly Fay Bean of California; 22 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
