Memorial services for Lee Roy Ashley of Ralls were conducted at 2 p.m. last Thursday in Ralls Church of Christ with Ellmore Johnson, a Lubbock minister officiating. Interment was made in Ralls Cemetery.Mr. Ashley, 79, had been a Ralls resident since 1916.
He died at 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, in Crosbyton Hospital following a lengthy illness.
A retired farmer, Mr. Ashley and Jewell Mae Morton were married Sept. 18, 1926, in Ralls. He was a Willbarger County native.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Billy R. Wright of Ralls, one sister, Mrs. Katie Laine of Liberty, Mo.; three grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Ronnie Wright is among grandchildren.

Jewel Mae Ashley, a Ralls area resident for over half a century, was claimed by death about noon Thursday in Methodist Hospital, Lubbock, following a lengthy illness. She was 83.Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Church of Christ in Ralls. Clark Johnson of Lubbock and Elba Hall of Ralls officiated.
Interment was made in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home.
A native of Sidney, she and Lee Roy Ashley were married Sept. 18, 1926, in Ralls.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Billy R. (Nina) Wright of Ralls. four sisters, Mrs. Fred Hawkins and Mrs. Alba Hall, both of Ralls, Mrs. Ovie Hubble of Seminole and Mrs. A.B. May of Lubbock; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
