Biography

Beulah Mae Ash, (Oct 8, 1919, Ardmore, OK) married Leonard Morgan Ashley (April 6, 1919, Ralls) married on December 24, 1937.

Both were raised in Ralls where they were high school sweethearts before marrying. Leonard was a WWII vet and spent 4 yrs in England before returning home safely in 1946. They spent most of their lives in the Lubbock area, farming until 1960. They lived in Hobbs, NM for a 10 year period before returning to the Lubbock area to retire in Wolfforth. They had 5 children, three girls, Patricia, Sharon, and Rita. whom are still surviving and twin sons, Jimmy Rae and Jerry Kenneth (Nov. 4, 1941 - Nov. 7, 1941); buried Ralls Cemetery

Obituary

Services for Beulah Mae Ashley, 72, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. today in Wolfforth´s First Baptist Church with the Rev. G.A. MaGee, pastor of Bellview Baptist Church in Midland, officiating.

Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ashley died at 7:08 p.m. Wednesday in Methodist Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born in Ardmore, Okla., and had lived in Ralls, Lubbock and Hobbs, NM, before moving back to Lubbock in 1981. She married Leonard M. Ashley on Dec. 24, 1937, in Ralls. He died on Aug. 4, 1986. She was a homemaker and a member of Wolfforth´s First Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Patty Petty of Lubbock, Sharon Winn of Yorktown, VA., and Rita Prewett of Rogers, NM; and eight grandchildren.
