
RALLS (Special) - Alvin Willard Arnold, 71, 730 S. 10th St., Slaton, died at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at a convalescent home in Floydada.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at First Baptist Church of Ralls, the Rev. C.M. Fields, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Floyd C. Bradley, Floydada. Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter Funeral Home.
Arnold moved to Ralls from Slaton in 1926 and built the Ralls Ice Plant for Texas Utility Co. He was active in ice manufacturing until 1962 when he retired. In 1945 he opened the first electric shop in Crosby County, and continued to be involved with various ice making plants around the area. He was a member of the Ralls Fire Department for 20 years, and was a former member of the Masonic Lodge in Ralls. In 1952 he moved back to Slaton and had maintained his home there since.
He was married to Miss Lois Benson, Dec.18, 1914, at Christman, Tex. He was born at Caldwell.
Survivors are his wife,(Lois) Slaton; a son, Marvin Arnold, Ralls; a daughter, Mrs. Don Pemberton, Floydada; five grandchildren, and 22 grandchildren.

RALLS (Special) Services for Lois May Arnold, 88, of Plainview will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Carter Adams Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lee Fuller, pastor of the Ralls First Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in the Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Carter Adams Funeral Home.
She died Sunday morning at the Heritage Home in Plainview after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Caldwell County and lived in Tahoka from 1921 to 1923, when she moved to Slaton. She lived in Ralls from 1926 to 1948, when she returned to Slaton. She married Alvin W. Arnold Dec. 18, 1914, in Crisman. He died Dec. 11, 1965. She was a housewife, a member of the First Baptist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Layne Coleman of Plainview; two brothers, Charles Benson of Post and Jess Benson of Southland; a sister, Florence Johnson of Lubbock; five grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
