Lupe Alvarez photo RALLS (Special) — Services for Lupe O. Alvarez, 76, of Ralls will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Iglesia Bautista in Ralls with the Rev. Leon Vasquez, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home.

Alvarez died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 1996, at Lubbock´s St. Mary Hospital.

He was born Jan. 14, 1921, in Raymondville. He married Celia Davila on Dec. 16, 1943, in Wichita Falls. He was a Baptist. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He moved to Ralls from Raymondville in 1968.

He was a mechanic.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Lupe II of Petersburg and Nash of Wasilla, Alaska; four daughters, Mary Huizar and Michelle Encina, both of Lubbock, Olga Barrios of Plainsview and Virginia Alvarez of Ralls; three sisters, Elvira Bazan of Chicago, Ill., Petra Bazan of Mission and Lala Sanchez of Raymondville; 16 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Selia Alvarez Services for Selia Davila Alvarez, 85, of Ralls will be held at 4:00 PM Tuesday, February 24, 2009 in the Iglesia Bautista in Ralls with Rev. Eddie Chavarria officiating. Burial will follow in the Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

A prayer service will be held Monday, February 23, 2009 at 6:30 PM at the same church. Mrs. Alvarez passed away Saturday, February 21, 2009 at University Medical Center in Lubbock. She was born March 16, 1923 in Wichita Falls, Texas to the late Manuel and Refugia (Sifuentes) Davila. On December 16, 1943 she married Guadalupe Ortiz Alvarez in Wichita Falls. He preceded her in death October 29, 1996. She was a homemaker and a member of the Iglesia Bautista in Ralls. She loved donating her time and giving of herself. She helped with the Senior Citizens in Ralls. She moved to Ralls in 1970 from Rochester, Texas. Mrs. Alvarez is preceded in death by two sisters, Macario Davila and Chonita Munoz.

Survivors include two sons; Lupe Alvarez, II, of Petersburg and Nash Alvarez of Wasilla, Alaska, four daughters; Mary Huizar of Lubbock, Olga Barrios of Plainview, Virginia Alvarez of Ralls and Michelle Lavander of Florence, Arizona, one sister, Andrea Garcia of Wichita Falls, Texas, 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Serving as casket bearers will be Victor Huizar, Jr., Guadalupe Alvarez, III, Frank Barrios, Aaron Encina, Rene Barrios, Jr., Marcus Barrios, Juan Salas, Jr. and Cory Alvarez.
