Mrs. S.E. Adams Is Death Victim; Rites Held Sunday
Services were held at Ralls Methodist church Sunday afternoon for Mrs. S.E. Adams, 70, who died Saturday in a Lubbock hospital. She had been in ill health for several years.
Rev. Oscar Bruce officiated, assisted by Rev. Horace Krebb, Floydada and Rev. William Watson, jr., of Cone. Burial was in Ralls cemetery.
Mrs. Adams was born at Longview, Tex., in 1884. She moved to the Plains in 1925, and had lived in Ralls since the death of her husband about a year ago. She was a member of Cone Methodist church and Eastern Star.
Survivors include three sons, Claude of Ralls, James of Ropesville and Jerry of Amarillo; one daughter, Mrs. Bo Diggs, Ralls, stepmother, Mrs. Mae Blackburn, Shreveport, La., four sisters, Mrs. J.P. Montgomery of Lakeview, Mrs. Joe Gallager of Seaport, La., Mrs. Irene Blackburn of Longview, and Mrs. Ben Culver, Pawhuska, Okla., nine grandchildren and a great grandchild.
Out of town relatives here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Lee Montogomery and son, Lubbock; Mr. and Mrs. J.P. Montgomery, Memphis; Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Adams and family, Amarillo; Mr. and Mrs. James Adams and family, Ropesville; Mr. and Mrs. Ted Montgomery, Memphis; Mrs. Norman Anderson, jr., and daughter of Galveston.
