LORENZO Services for Lena Bell Swetnam, 82, of Lorenzo will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005 at Lorenzo First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry Williams officiating. Burial will be in Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home in Lorenzo.She died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005, at Crosbyton Hospital.
Lena was born Nov. 10, 1922, in Armeda, Ark., to Adolphus Jackson and Clemmie (Taylor) Simmons.
She moved to the Lorenzo area in 1936 and on Dec. 14, 1941, she married Robert Swetnam in Morton, Texas. Lena was a member of Lorenzo First United Methodist Church where she was involved in all the ladies organizations and had sang in the choir for 20 years. She was also a homemaker and a member of the bridge club.
Survivors include her husband, Robert of Lorenzo; two sons, Roy and wife Roni Ann Swetnam of Lubbock, and Jerry and wife Sue Swetnam of Lorenzo; a daughter, Linda Steffey of Lubbock; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services for Robert H. Swetnam, 89, of Lorenzo, will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, September 10, 2010 at the Lorenzo First United Methodist Church with Rev. Cam Givan officiating. Burial will follow in the Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.
Robert passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2010 in Lubbock. He was born March 9, 1921 in Strawn, Texas to the late Harry and Jessie Leona (Hash) Swetnam. He married Lena Bell Simmons December 14, 1941 in Morton, Texas. She preceded him in death January 16, 2005.
He is also preceded in death by a daughter, Juanita Ann Swetnam who passed away on December 16, 1942.
Robert was a farmer and a lifelong resident of Lorenzo. He was a member of the Lorenzo First United Methodist Church where he served as an usher for 45 years. He was a 1942 graduate of Texas Tech University and served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII.
Robert is survived by two sons and their wives, Roy and Roni Ann Swetnam and Jerry and Sue Swetnam, and a daughter, Linda Steffey, all of Lubbock, five grandchildren, Rex Swetnam, Jody Gestes, Rik Swetnam, Jenny Siegel and Kane Swetnam, and 11 great grandchildren.
