Syble Pickard PhotoServices for Syble Pickard, 78, of Lorenzo will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 17, 2005 at the Lorenzo First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Bevel officiating. Burial will follow in the Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.

Syble passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at the Ralls Nursing Home. She was born January 20, 1927 in Jacksonville, Texas to Ira and Georgia (Williams) Hodges.

On May 8, 1946 she married Bill Pickard in Dallas, Texas. She was a member of the Petersburg First Baptist Church and moved to the Lorenzo area in 1960 from Levelland. She is preceded in death by a son; Wayne Pickard who passed away on March 2, 1999. Survivors include: her husband; Bill of Lorenzo, two sons and their wives; Edward and Betty of Dallas, Philip and Linda of Lorenzo, a daughter and her husband; Ruth Ann and Chuck Barton of Lubbock 7 grandchildren; Noah Pickard, Amanda Pickard, Justin Pickard, Rebeka Bailey, Ben Barton, Cybbi Barton, Sarah Barton and 2 great grandchildren Collin and Haley Pickard.

Bill Pickard photoWillie Edward �Bill� Pickard, 96, of Petersburg, passed away Thursday March 3, 2016 in Lubbock. Bill was born May 25, 1919 in Josephine, Texas to William and Nina (Herring) Pickard. He served in the United States Army from 1941 to 1945. He married Syble Lynn Hodges in Houston, Texas on May 8, 1946. Bill was a member of the Petersburg First Baptist for many years, and had worked for the Farmers Home Administration in Plainview. He was a Shriner, was a member of the Levelland Masonic Lodge #1236 and was a 32 degree Mason. Bill was a farmer for many years in Levelland.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Nina; his wife Syble; and a son Wayne.

Bill is survived by his daughter; Ruth Ann Barton of California; Edward Pickard of San Antonio; Philip Ira Pickard of Lorenzo; seven grandchildren; Noah, Amanda, Justin, Rebekah, Ben, Cybbi, and Sarah; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 3 to 4 pm Sunday, March 6 at Adams Funeral Home in Lorenzo. Funeral services will be 2 pm Monday, March 7 at the Pickard Family Farm, with burial following in Lorenzo Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.

The family requests memorials made to Ralls EMS.
