Julio OrtizCelebration of life services for Julio L. Ortiz, 46, of Lubbock are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1st, 2011, in Our Lady of Guadalupe church with Fr. Andres Mendoza officiating. Burial will follow at Lorenzo Cemetery under the direction of Guajardo Funeral Chapels. A rosary will be recited on Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, at 7 p.m. in Guajardo Funeral Chapels.

Mr. Ortiz passed away on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011. He was born in Lubbock to Ruben and Natividad Ortiz. Julio married his "endless love" Mollie. Julio was an extraordinary father, uncle, grandfather and friend. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He grew up in Lubbock and attended Dunbar High. He was a painter for over 25 years. Julio lived to make everyone laugh and was always the life of the party.

Those left to cherish his memory are his only daughter, Stephanie, and son-in-law, Mike Ortiz; his father, Ruben; brothers, Gilbert, Andy, Jimmy and Ruben Jr.; his sisters, Sabrina and Priscilla; his beloved grandchildren, Aalyra, Aasiya and Aamiley; and several nieces and nephews.

Waiting for Julio in heaven are his mother, Natividad Loera Ortiz, and his baby brother, Peter Ortiz.

Julio has been greatly loved and will be more so missed.
