R.P. Nicholson was born at Gordon, Palo Pinto County, April 6, 1889. He moved to the Lorenzo area with his mother, the late Mrs. A.A. Nicholson, about 1911. On December 26, 1920, he married Miss Clarissa Mae Duren at Waco, who had formerly lived in Lorenzo. He was a veteran of World War I and a longtime member of the Methodist Church. He passed away in Lorenzo, May 31.
Mrs. Clarissa Mae Nicholson has been active in Government works. She was a case worker in Crosby County during World War II, and now is old age supervisor.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 2, in Lorenzo Methodist church for Roby Percy Nicholson, 62, retired businessman, who died at 12 midnight, Thursday night.
Rev. H. F. Dunn, pastor, officated, assisted by Rev. George A. Nicholson of Hamlin, brother of the victim, and Rev. George H. Bryant of Bula.
Nicholson died in Spikes hospital in Ralls, where he was admitted three weeks ago with a heart ailment.
He was a native of Texas and had lived in Lorenzo for over 30 years. He was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors are: His widow; a son, R.P. jr.; one grandson; two brothers, George of Hamlin and W.T. of Ralls; and two sisters, Mrs. Alma Mayo of Petersburg and Mrs. M. F. Ball of Odessa.
His nephews served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Roy Abell, Roy Terrell, J.W. Catching, Joe Catching, E. T. House, Scott Grey, H.C. Pearson, R.G. O'Rear, Bert Poole and Fred Maxey.

LORENZO (Special) Graveside services for Clarissa Mae Nicholson, 95, of Big Spring will be at 2 p.m. today in Lorenzo Cemetery with the Rev. Ed Walker, Hospice chaplain, officiating.
Interment will be directed by Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Nicholson died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 1995, in a Big Spring nursing home.
She was born July 17, 1899, in Moody. She married Robert P. Nicholson Sr. Dec. 20, 1927, in Lorenzo. He died May 2, 1951. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lorenzo.
She worked for the Texas Department of Public Welfare in Crosby and Lubbock counties until retiring in 1960.
Survivors include a son, R.P. of Big Spring; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
