Rosary for Susie Mendoza, 56, of Lorenzo will be at 7 PM, Tuesday and Wednesday January 29 & 30, 2013 at San Lorenzo Catholic Church in Lorenzo. Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 31, 2013 at the same church with Father Jose Kochuparambil officiating. Burial will be in the Lorenzo Cemetery under the care of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.
Susie passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2013 at University Medical Center She was born on January 17, 1957 in Idalou, Texas to Jesse and Concepcion (Gutierrez) Solis. On September 25, 1974 she married Antonio �Tony� Mendoza in Lubbock.
Susie was a member of the San Lorenzo Catholic Church. She was also a highly respected licensed vocational nurse at University Medical Center for 23 years; where she was recognized several times as nurse of the year. She was a woman of few words but had a big heart.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Concepcion Rodriguez and a sister Amanda Rodriguez.
Survivors include her father, Jesse Solis, her husband, Antonio of Lorenzo, a son Antonio C. Mendoza of Lorenzo, two daughters, Rosa Mendoza of Lorenzo, Anna Mendoza of Lubbock, three brothers, Jesse Solis, Jr., Alfonso Rodriguez, Alonzo Rodriguez, six sisters, JoAnn Arguello, Gloria Velasquez, Mary Zamora, Francis Solis, Martha Hernandez and Lisa Dobbins and four grandchildren.
The family would like to thank her UMC family for all the care and the love they showed her.
Serving as pallbearers will be, Rudy Velasquez, Adam Velasquez Alfonzo Rodriguez, Javier Martinez, Joseph Mendez, Arthur Mendoza, Jr., Wally Gonzales, and Jesse Solis, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Angelo Pineda and Alex Mendoza.
