Services for Mamie Nell Valentine, 75, of Lorenzo were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 1992 in the Lorenzo First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Golden officiating.

Burial was in Lorenzo Cemetery under the direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

Mrs. Valentine died at 7:51 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, 1992, in Methodist Hospital in Lubbock after an illness.

She was born March 12, 1917, in Graham and married Ollie Odell Valentine on May 16, 1934, in Brownfield. He died on Aug. 24, 1987. She was a 1933 graduate of Meadow High School and had lived in Lorenzo since 1966. She was a member of the Lorenzo First Baptist Church and the Faithful Samaritan Sunday School Class. She owned and operated Western Auto, Nell's Variety, Nell's Flower Shop, and Nell's Trading Post in Lorenzo. A son, Gary Valentine, preceded her in death.

Survivors include three sons, John Valentine of Lorenzo, Ronald Valentine of Sundown and Joe Valentine of Amarillo; a daughter, Charlotte Gibbs of Lorenzo; two brothers, Johnny Timmons of Seattle, Wash., and Delbert Timmons of Farnsworth; three sisters, Mary Frances McQuay of Amarillo, Lorene Ensor of South Coffeyville, Okla., and Gladys Boyd of Port Neches; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
