Services for Robbie Pauline Steward,75, of Abilene were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 3, 1989, in Lorenzo's First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Golden, pastor, officiating.Burial was in Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
She died at noon Friday, Dec. 1, 1989, in Abilene's Anson Place One Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Red River County and was a longtime Lorenzo resident before moving to Hawley in 1986. She married Clyde R. Steward on Oct. 10, 1931, in Altus, OK. He died in 1985. She worked for Furr's Cafeterias in Lubbock and had owned a dry cleaning shop in Lorenzo. She was a past president of the Lorenzo Cemetery Association and the Lorenzo Garden Club. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include five daughters, Cathy Dockery of Denton, Betty Yates of Waco, Peggy Bronson of Woodward, OK, Clydene Cooper of Milan, NM and Nina Monsey of Hawley; a brother, Bobby Setzer of Honey Grove; 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
