Services for Opal Smith, 86, of Lorenzo were at 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 12, 2000 at Lorenzo First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Williams, pastor, officiating.

Burial was in Lorenzo Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.

She died Sunday, September 10, 2000, in Autumn House in Idalou, TX.

She was born April 26, 1914, in Roby, TX.

She married Buster Smith on January 10, 1933, in Hollis, OK.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lorenzo where she worked with the G.A. program. She was also an artist. She moved to Ralls in 1946 from Wellington then to Lorenzo from Ralls in 1951.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Alta Tate on Sept. 18, 1999.

Survivors include her husband, Buster Smith of Lorenzo; one brother, Truman Hammet and wife Dixie of Portales, N.M.
