Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church for Miss Gladys Smith, 77. The Rev. James Holman, host pastor officiated. Miss Smith died about 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Hospital in Lubbock.

Burial was in the Lorenzo Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home.

Miss Smith was born in Franklin, Texas. She moved to the South Plains area in 1907 from Houston. She moved to Lorenzo in 1920 and had lived there since that time.

Survivors include two brothers, T.E. Smith of Lorenzo and E.S. Smith of Lubbock.
