Thomas Sifert Sr.Services for Thomas Earl Sifert, Sr., 75, of Lorenzo will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, at the Lorenzo First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry Williams and Dr. Will Cotton officiating. Burial will be in the Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.

Thomas died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005, at his home. He was born May 24, 1929 in Minneapolis, Minn. to Earl R. and Princelle Thomas Sifert. Thomas married Ann Laverne Hinders July 24, 1950 in Canyon. He moved to Lorenzo in 1950 and lived there for three years. He then moved to Ft. Collins, Colo. and lived there until 1958 when he moved to Davenport, Iowa. While in Davenport he was a member of the Methodist Church, the 49ers Sunday School Class, and worked with the youth. For 30 years he taught Vocational Graphic Arts and Industrial Arts in Davenport and was a member of various Vocational Arts organizations. He was also a member of the Iowa Education Association, the National Education Association, the Civil Air Patrol, the Model Railroad Club, and was a private pilot. He moved back to Lorenzo in 1993 and was a member of the Lorenzo First United Methodist Church, an associate member of St. Luke's Methodist Church in Lubbock and a member of the Lorenzo Lions Club. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

He is preceded in death by a son, Thomas E. Sifert, Jr., in 1951.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Laverne of Lorenzo; a son, Thomas E. Sifert II of Lorenzo and his fiance' Diane Hamann; a daughter, Ann Lanette Bodensteiner and her husband Larry of Oronoco, Minn.; six grandchildren, Carla, Kyle and Jenna Sifert, Jeremy, Amanda and Michaela Bodensteiner, two great-grandchildren, Byron Thomas Sifert and Robert Lashon Tabor.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2005, at Adams Funeral Home in Lorenzo. The family suggests memorials to VistaCare 1010 Slide Rd. Lubbock, Texas 79414; the Lorenzo First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 429 Lorenzo, Texas 79343; or to St. Luke's Methodist Church, 3717 44th St. Lubbock, Texas 79413.

Ann SifertServices for Ann LaVerne Sifert, 81, of Lorenzo will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at Lorenzo First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Lorenzo Cemetery under the care of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.

Ann passed away Friday, July 22, 2011, at Vista Care Hospice in Lubbock. She was born July 8, 1930, in Happy, Texas, to the late Louis and Amanette (Garvin) Hinders. Ann married Thomas Earl Sifert Sr., July 24, 1950, in Canyon, Texas. They moved to Lorenzo in 1950 and lived there for three years, then moved to Fort Collins, Colo., and lived there until 1958 when they moved to Davenport, Iowa. While in Davenport they were members of the Saint John's Methodist Church. They moved back to the community of Lorenzo in 1993 and were members of the Lorenzo First United Methodist Church. She was also a member of PEO, the Lubbock Music Club and the Lorenzo Study Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Earl Sifert Sr. in 2005, and a son, Thomas E. Sifert Jr. in 1951.

Survivors include a son, Thomas E. Sifert II; a daughter, Ann Lanette Bodensteiner and her husband Larry of 32 years; six grandchildren, Carla, Kyle and Jenna Sifert, and Jeremy, Amanda, and Michaela Bodensteiner; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2011, at Adams Funeral Home in Lorenzo. The family suggests memorials to Vista Care Hospice, Lorenzo Senior Citizens or Lorenzo Methodist Church.
