Obituary

LORENZO (Special) - Graveside services for Stella Shirley, 86, of Portales, NM, were Thursday in Lorenzo Cemetery with Bettye Barton officiating.

Burial was under direction of Wheeler Mortuary of Portales.

She died Tuesday, May 21, 1996, at her residence.

She was born March 19, 1910, in Snyder. She married Roy Shirley in 1932 in Ralls. He died Dec. 6, 1946. She moved to Portales in 1950. She was a companion to senior adults in Portales.

Survivors include two daughters, Royene Tivis of Portales and Leona Robbins of Plainview; and five grandchildren.

PORTALES, N.M. - Graveside services for Stella Shirley, 86, mother of Mrs. Ronnie (Leona) Robbins of Plainview, will be at 2 p.m. today in Lorenzo Cemetery. Burial arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary.

Mrs. Shirley died Tuesday, May 21, 1996, at her home.

She was born Stella White on March 19, 1910, in Snyder. She grew up in West Texas and Eastern New Mexico and had lived in Portales since 1950. She had worked as a companion to senior adults for several years.

She married Roy Shirley in 1932 in Ralls. He died Dec. 6, 1946.

Other survivors include another daughter, Royene Tivis of Portales; and five grandchildren, Rocky Tivis of Elida, N.M., Randy Tivis of Amarillo, Tamra Tivis of Portales, Tracie Robbins and Kevin Robbins, both of Plainview.

Five brothers, Roy White, Ralph White, Herschell White, Buck White and Chunk White, and two sisters, Audrey Rainwater and Opel Self, are deceased.
