Eileen and Angela Settle

Eileen and Angela Settle Photo LORENZO (Special) Services for Eileen Settle, 27, of 4625 71st St., and her daughter, Angela Settle, 3, will be at 2 p.m. today in the First United Methodist Church in Lorenzo with the Rev. Bill Couch, pastor of Lake Ridge Methodist Church in Lubbock, officiating.

Burial will be in Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

Mrs. Settle died at 6:12 p.m. Sunday in a car-truck collision east of Loop 289 on the Idalou Road. Her daughter, Angela, died at 12:30 a.m. Monday at Lubbock General Hospital with internal injuries suffered in the same accident. Justice of the Peace Wayne LeCroy ruled the deaths accidental.

The accident occurred as Mrs. Settle was westbound in the right-hand lane on U.S. 62-82, according to investigating officers. A truck pulling a flatbed trailer which was loaded with a tractor and a small pickup truck, pulled out of Rip Griffin's Truck Stop and also was westbound when the car struck the rear of the trailer.

Mrs. Settle's 1981 Toyota Corolla went partially under the trailer, driven by Clifton Edward Stacker of 4711 60th St., and Mrs. Settle was killed instantly when the car hood was thrust back into the passenger compartment, according to police reportsd.

Mrs. Settle was a native of Lubbock and was a graduate of Lorenzo High school, McMurry College and the Methodist School of Nursing in Lubbock. She moved to Lubbock from Abilene in 1974 and was employed as a nurse at Methodist Hospital and was an alumni member of Theta Chi Lambda Sorority at McMurry College.

Angela was also born in Lubbock and was attending St. Luke's Methodist Church pre-school.

Survivors include Mrs. Settle's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Pair of Lorenzo; her grandparents, Mrs. Donna Pair of Lorenzo and W.C. MDonald of Fayetteville, Ark.; Angela's father, Gordon Settle of Dallas; Mrs. Settle's brothers, David Pair of Houston and Jeffrey Pair of Lorenzo; and her sister, Mrs. Rosemary Randell of Abilene.
