O.L. Sanders

O.L. Sanders, a former teacher at Estacado, Crosbyton and Petersburg, was claimed by death at 11:15 a.m. Friday in the Heritage Convalescent Home in Plainview.

Memorial rites for the 72 Idalou resident were at 4 p.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church in Idalou. Interment was in Lorenzo Cemetery.

Sanders moved to Idalou 35 years ago from Petersburg..

He married Mallie McCall in Lorenzo June 5, 1927. He retired as the city secretary of Idalou. Sanders was a ham radio operator and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Idalou.

Survivors include his wife; two brothers, Utah of Granada Hills, Calif., and Sam of Idalou.
