Pedro QuintanaRosary for Pedro Quintana Sr., 59, of Lorenzo was Monday at 7 p.m. at San Lorenzo Catholic Church. Funeral mass was celebrated on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the same church with Father Roland Buxkemper. Burial was at Lorenzo City cemetery under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home of Lubbock.

Pedro passed away peacefully on Saturday at his residence. He was born on June 25, 1945, in Gonzales to the late Pedro Quintana Sr. (1986) and Jesusa Quintana. He married Maria Hinojosa on April 29, 1967, in Spur. They moved to Gonzales after being married. They moved back in the Post-Calgary area in 1979, then to Lorenzo in 1981 where he made his home. He had been a ginner for many area cotton gins. He was a Catholic. He loved to play the lottery and watching western movies with his family. He had a large heart and loved to give to others. All of his grandchildren were very special to him; he loved to be surrounded by them.

He is preceded in death by a daughter, Juanita Quintana, 1968; two brothers, Estaban Quintana, 1941, and Celestino Quintana Sr., 1996; a sister, Romanita Quintana, in 1933.

Survivors include three sons, Esteban Quintana and Christopher Quintana, both of Lorenzo, and Seferino Quintana of Lubbock; three daughters, Elvira Cedillo of Lubbock, Irma Linda of Waxahachie, and Amy Cisneros of Lorenzo. His mother, Juanita Quintana of Edinburg; six brothers, Jesus of Plainview, Guadalupe and Juan, both of Post, Inocencio and Anestacio, both of Edinburg, and Refugio of McAllen; two sisters, Lucinda Quintana and Rosita Quintana, both of Edinburg; 19 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
