LORENZO (Special) - Services for Doyle G. Powell, 67, of Lorenzo will be at 2 p.m. today in the First Baptist Church of Lorenzo with the Rev. Bill Lacy, pastor, and the Rev. Billy Pierson, pastor of the Assembly of God Church of Lorenzo, officiating.Burial will be in the Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home here.
Powell died at 6 a.m. Thursday in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born in Wise County. Powell married Johnnie Maud True in Lovington, NM Sept. 10, 1955. He had been a resident of the South Plains for 32 years and was a retired heavy equipment operator.
He also was a member of the Lorenzo Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his wife, three sons, Clayton Powell of Idalou. Ronnie and Donnie Powell of Lorenzo; a step-son, Johnny Lee Curbo of Lubbock; two daughters, Joyce Marie Morrison of Lubbock and Sandra Kay Chandler of Lorenzo; two step-daughters, Mrs. Bud Lewis of Azle, and Mrs. June Przybylski of Minnesota City, Minn; and a brother, Raymond Powell of Lubbock; 16 grandchildren and a great grandchild.
